Moving in or out of Al-Aziziyah, Jeddah: a practical guide for tenants and families
If you are searching for furniture moving in Al-Aziziyah, Jeddah, you are probably in one of three situations: your lease is ending and you need a clean handover, you have found a new flat or villa and want to move quickly, or you are relocating with your family and want the process to be as calm as possible. Three Knights Furniture Moving works in all three situations across Jeddah. This page explains how we plan a move, what we ask you before we agree a date, how we protect furniture in Jeddah's heat and humidity, and what decides the price, so you can prepare properly before you call.
We do not publish fixed prices, because the same two-bedroom flat can need a very different amount of work depending on the floor, the lift, the access and how much dismantling is required. What we can promise is a clear plan and straight answers. If something cannot be done safely, we will tell you before moving day.
Start four weeks out: a simple planning timeline
Most stressful moves are stressful because decisions were left to the last evening. A relaxed move follows a rough timeline, and you can adapt it to your own situation.
- Three to four weeks before: confirm your handover date with your landlord or the seller, decide what you will keep, sell, donate or throw away, and ask for a moving quote with the details listed later in this page.
- Two weeks before: collect packing materials or ask us to pack, notify the building management, and arrange for any utilities, internet and cleaning to be handled around the handover.
- One week before: pack the rooms you use least, such as the storeroom, guest room and balcony. Measure large furniture and the doorways at the new home.
- Two days before: empty and defrost the fridge, empty drawers that are heavy, and label every box with the destination room.
- Moving day: keep documents, valuables, medication, chargers and a change of clothes with you, not in the truck.
You do not have to follow every step. Even following half of them makes the day smoother.
What we need to know before giving you a quote
A good quote is built from facts. When you call or message us on WhatsApp, the details below help us decide how many workers, how much wrapping and which type of vehicle are suitable.
- The type of building: apartment block, villa, duplex or a small annex.
- The floor, and whether there is a working lift that will take large furniture.
- The number of bedrooms and a list of the largest pieces: wardrobes, beds, sofas, dining table, desks, bookcases.
- Whether furniture needs dismantling and reassembly, and whether you want us to pack small items too.
- Where the truck can park and whether the building management has to approve it.
- Your preferred date and time, and whether the handover deadline is fixed.
- Anything fragile, antique, very heavy or valuable.
Photos help a lot. A few pictures of the entrance, the stairwell or lift, and your largest items allow us to spot problems early.
Room by room: how we handle a typical home
Our crews work by room rather than by item, because it keeps things in order and prevents boxes from landing in the wrong place at the other end.
Bedrooms
Beds, wardrobes and dressers are dismantled where needed, wrapped and loaded so that they come out first at the new home. Mattresses go into protective covers. We keep screws, hinges and small parts in labelled bags attached to the furniture they belong to. In many homes the bedroom is the first room to be reassembled, so the family can sleep that night.
Living and majlis areas
Sofas, coffee tables, TV units and cabinets are wrapped with padding. Glass tops and mirrors are protected separately and carried upright. In a majlis with floor seating or heavy cushions, we plan extra space in the truck because bulky items take volume even when they are light.
Kitchen and dining
Boxes of kitchenware should be small and well filled, with plates standing on their edges rather than lying flat. We handle the dining table, chairs and cabinets. Large appliances should be emptied, cleaned and disconnected before we arrive. If a technician is needed to disconnect gas or water lines, please arrange that in advance.
Children's rooms
Bunk beds, desks and wardrobes are normally dismantled. Keep a bag of favourite toys and bedtime items with you. A familiar bed in the new room on the first night makes a real difference to young children.
Storeroom and balcony
These areas collect surprising amounts of items. Give them their own time slot and sort them early. Things you no longer need are easier to leave behind before the truck is loaded than after.
Heat, humidity and dust: protecting furniture in Jeddah
Jeddah's climate is hard on furniture in two ways. High heat can soften glues and some finishes, and high humidity can trap moisture under plastic wrap. For that reason we do not rely on a single layer of cling film on wooden surfaces. We use padded blankets or fabric covers over timber, and light plastic only to keep dust off. Upholstered pieces are covered but not sealed airtight. On very hot days we plan loading early in the morning or later in the afternoon where we can, and we try not to leave the loaded truck standing under direct sun longer than necessary. If you want more on this topic, see our guide to protecting furniture from heat and humidity in Jeddah.
During dusty days, electronics and screens are covered to protect vents and ports, and drawers are taped or secured so that they do not slide open.
Building rules, lifts and neighbours
Most apartment buildings have house rules for moving: certain hours, lift reservations, protection for corridor walls, or a deposit with the management. Ask about them early. If the building does not allow the lift for large items, tell us in advance so we can plan more dismantling or an alternative route. A courtesy note to neighbours also helps, particularly if the move will block a shared parking space for a few hours.
In a villa or standalone house, the key issues are the width of the gate and internal doors, staircase shape, and where the truck can stand without blocking a narrow street. If you live in a villa, our page on villa moving in Jeddah goes deeper, and for flats see apartment moving in Jeddah.
Lease end and handover: what tenants should do
Moving at the end of a lease adds a deadline, and deadlines create pressure. Agree on the handover date with your landlord, then plan the move to finish at least a day before so there is time to clean and to patch small marks on walls. Ask the landlord what condition they expect. If you must be out by a fixed time, tell us so that we can staff the job to match. And if your new home is not ready on the same day, consider short-term storage. Our furniture storage in Jeddah service can hold your belongings until the new place is available, and we have a dedicated page on moving at lease end in Jeddah.
Dismantling, reassembly and packing
Dismantling is not only about fitting through a door. Done carefully, it prevents damage to corners, joints and veneer. Reassembly at the new home matters just as much: loose screws, misaligned doors and wobbling shelves are usually the result of rushed assembly. Our teams document the order in which complicated pieces were taken apart and reverse it at the other end. If you only need that part, see furniture disassembly and assembly; if you want us to do the packing, see furniture packing and wrapping.
What affects the price of a move in Al-Aziziyah?
Price is a result, not a starting point. These factors usually decide it:
- The volume and weight of your belongings.
- The floor and whether a lift can be used.
- The distance between the old and new addresses and the traffic at the time.
- Whether dismantling, reassembly or packing is needed.
- The number of workers and the time window required.
- Special items: antiques, very heavy cabinets, pianos or large glass pieces.
- Timing: weekends, month-end and the last day of a lease can be busier.
For a deeper explanation, read our page on furniture moving prices in Jeddah. If you tell us the facts, we will tell you the price clearly before the job begins.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Packing at the last minute and filling heavy boxes to the brim.
- Forgetting to measure doors, stairs and the lift at the new home.
- Leaving documents and valuables inside general boxes.
- Not telling the building management, then being refused entry.
- Underestimating the storeroom.
- Waiting for the final day to defrost the fridge.
Our guide to preparing furniture before moving day gives a longer list of preparation tips.
Your first night at the new place
Plan the night like a short camping trip with proper beds. Have a bag with clothes for the next day, toiletries, medicine, chargers, important papers, and a few basic food items. Ask us to set up beds first. Do not unpack everything on the first evening; start with the bedrooms and the kitchen essentials, then continue room by room. If you notice a scratch or a problem during delivery, tell the crew leader immediately so it can be noted and discussed while the team is still on site.

Frequently asked questions about moving in Al-Aziziyah
Do you move furniture within Al-Aziziyah and to other districts or cities?
Yes. We move within the district, between Jeddah neighbourhoods, and from Jeddah to other cities. The plan depends on distance and the volume of furniture.
Can the move be finished in one day?
For many medium-sized flats, yes, but it depends on dismantling, lift access and distance. We will give you an honest estimate once we know the details.
Do I need a site visit before booking?
Not always. Clear photos and a description of access are often enough. For complicated moves we prefer a visit to avoid surprises.
Can you pack for me, or should I pack myself?
Both options are available. You can pack small items yourself while we wrap the large furniture, or we can pack everything.
What if my building does not allow trucks or lifts at certain hours?
Tell us the rules in advance. We can adjust the timing, stage the move in several trips, or use a different route.
How much does it cost to move in Al-Aziziyah?
It depends on volume, floor, lift, distance, dismantling and timing. We provide a clear quotation after learning the details and do not guess before that.
